THE GREATEST CHALLENGE

I am a man who loves challenges, who loves to turn obstacles into opportunities, who dared not to believe in himself, (however not always being true to himself), who will knock the "you can't do that"  block off any defiant person's shoulder and prove that you can, with love and faith in God, become a "winner" in a "no win" situation.

I once faced the challenge of graduating at the top of my high school class with a "ninety four" point grade average which allowed me to enter Washington University Department of Music without taking an entrance exam.

I proved to the Entertainment World that "The son of a sharecropper" could become a "Show Stopper".  I won the challenge of abandoning show business to provide opportunities for young teenagers and adults, convincing them  to leave their adverse life style of drugs and alcohol and become creative and productive citizens of society.

I took on the tough challenge of organizing and moving the Cathedral of Promise Gospel Choir from obscurity to an award winning choir.  (It was chosen to represent all the Metropolitan Community Churches at the opening ceremonies of the World Headquarters in Los Angeles).

At first I thought that my toughest challenge was learning to love myself and to be proud of who God created me to be.  But later I was to learn that that was just a drop in the bucket compared to the trial I would be facing today.

It has been a challenge is to keep my infant Son Prentice Terry Minner II, affectionately known as "PT" alive.  (PT has been diagnosed with Acid Maltase Deficiency (Pompe Disease II) which up to now has proven to be fatal for every infant diagnosed with it).   At this moment little PT has a chance (a long one) that recent advances in medical knowledge and research will unlock the DNA chain of this disease and free him, and other children from the sentence of painful illness and certain death.

With this in mind ....

I am obviously a man of faith who believes in miracles, but I am reminded that "faith without works is dead" - so in order for me to witness my faith being manifested, I have to work, and as my pastor, Rev. Freda Smith, reminds me - I must work while it is yet day - while there is yet hope - yet while there is still time.  With my faith, and concerned people like you, the joy of the miracle is just around the corner.

So, work I am.  If you check out my "calendar" page, you will see that I have many engagements scheduled throughout the rest of the year.  But there is still room for more.  If you are interested in having me perform or minister for your group or church, please by all means contact me as soon as possible.  For your convenience we have included a "contact" form for you to use.  I promise to respond as quickly as possible.

In closing ....

Below is a recent announcement sent out by Chuck Harvey:

"Dear Saints,

It is my joy to announce that the Northwest District Committee has approved the  creation of a new Special Ministry. In his own words, "My ministry shall be known as: Rev. Prentice T. Minner Music Ministry, and shall be based on Psalms 100...."Make a Joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands....Serve the Lord with gladness; come before his presence with "singing". The goal will be to spread the good news of God's unconditional love, grace and saving power through music, drama and the arts; Thus creating a world of love with sounds of music through diverse and inclusive messages for all God's Children.  His fellowship-wide travels will include Prentice's unique style of evangelism as well as advance the cause of the "Miracle Journey" in which a treatment is sought for his 18 month old son Prentice Junior.   As Rev Minner leaves his service at Cathedral of Promise (Director of Celebrative Worship) he goes with our joyful prayers for an expanded audience to share his vision and story of truth.  We welcome him into our District's outreach to fulfill the Great Commission.  Rev. Minner can be reached at RevMin@aol.com.

In Christ's Service,  Chuck Harvey"

Sincerely yours,
Rev. Prentice T. Minner I

for: Prentice T. Minner II and all the other children afflicted by Pompe's Disease.
